Cookie Policy
Effective Date: April 3, 2026
Version: 2026.04.03
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the site operators.
In addition to traditional cookies, Pactwise uses similar browser storage technologies including localStorage and sessionStorage to maintain your session state, preferences, and authentication status. These technologies serve the same functional purposes as cookies but are stored differently by your browser.
2. Cookies We Use
The following table lists all cookies and browser storage items used by the Pactwise Service:
| Cookie / Storage | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Essential | Supabase authentication session | Session |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | Essential | PKCE auth flow verification | Session |
| cookie_consent | Essential | Records your cookie preference | 1 year |
| theme_preference | Functional | Light/dark mode preference | 1 year |

| recent_searches | Functional | Search history for convenience | 30 days |
We do NOT use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. Pactwise does not serve ads and does not share your browsing behavior with advertisers.
3. How to Manage Cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Please note that disabling essential cookies may prevent the Service from functioning correctly.
Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data
To clear localStorage and sessionStorage, use your browser's developer tools (typically accessible via F12) under the Application or Storage tab.
If you disable essential cookies (such as authentication cookies), you will not be able to sign in to or use the Pactwise Service.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Pactwise does not set third-party cookies. However, our payment processor, Stripe, may set cookies during payment processing to facilitate secure transactions and fraud prevention.
For information about how Stripe uses cookies, please see Stripe's Cookie Policy.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Updates will be communicated via the Cookie Consent banner displayed within the Service.
We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last updated.
